The Taylor Swift vs. David Mueller jury selection began Monday with 60 potential jurors being questions by attorneys for both sides. The judge also asked potential jurors to describe how much of a Taylor Swift fan they were, whether they liked Country Music, the local Denver Radio stations and if any of them saw the leaked picture of Swift and former KYGO Denver host David Mueller (pictured here). As the RMLC battles with Irving Azoff's Global Music Rights Organization, radio stations that might be airing works from GMR were offered a 6-month extension from GMR on Monday. The original 9-month interim license expires at the end of September. [read more]
 
During its Q2 earnings call Monday night, CBS Executives confirmed its deal to merge the CBS radio stations with Entercom is on track to close in the fourth quarter. The company said the SEC has approved the deal and now both companies are only waiting on approval from the Department of Justice. [read more]
 
After completing a refinance that brought down the leverage of the company, Salem Media CEO Ed Atsinger says the company is on the lookout for tuck-in acquisitions that do not increase the company's leverage. He also said translators were big for the company with 12 already up and running and 15 more in the pipeline ready to be turned on. Atsinger did say there are very few translators left for purchase in the markets Salem operates. [read more]
 
 
Total revenue for the company decreased 2.5% to $66.1. Broadcast revenue decreased 1.4% to $49.3 million, digital revenue decreased 1.6% to $10.9 million and publishing revenue decreased 11.3% to $6.0 million. One of Salem's biggest drags on revenue is KLTY in Dallas, where revenue is down 20% after years of ratings declines. [read more]

The Oakland Raiders and 93.5 KDAY have agreed that the station will continue to be the exclusive FM broadcaster for the team in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. “Superstation” 101.1 FM WYDE (Birmingham, AL) has announced changes to their daily weekday lineup, including a new morning show, AM with Michael & Jessica (6 to 10 a.m.), hosted by radio veteran Michael Hart and Jessica Borklund. [read more]
 
The station has named two new members to the Mix Morning Show team.  Brandon O’Brien, former PD/afternoon drive host at WUSH-FM/Norfolk, and Ricki Smith, recently the AM drive co-host on WARH-FM/St. Louis, will join current Producer/co-host Clint Redwine in morning drive beginning August 21.
