Mark Gray started as an AE at Katz Media, mentored by the late Stu Olds for 15 years. He would advance, taking on many management roles, including president of the Katz Radio division, before being promoted to president of Katz Radio Group in 2006. In 2016, with the departure of Mark Rosenthal, Gray was promoted to CEO of Katz Media Group. John Kage successfully programmed KQKS for years under Lincoln, joining Entercom Denver upon the sale of Lincoln to Entercom in 2015. He then left for Cox in Tampa to program WPOI. He's a single dad and his son missed Denver, so when Cox allowed him to leave Tampa, Bonneville Market Manager Bob Call hired him to program KYGO back in Denver. The reason Call wanted him was simple, "He wins." [read more]

ESPN has made it official. Trey Wingo will join Mike Golic this fall when Mike Greenberg moves over to host his own program on the TV side of ESPN. Wingo and Golic will initially be simulcast on ESPN2, before moving to their permanent simulcast home on ESPNU. Mike Golic, Jr. will join the show every day from 6-7 a.m. [read more]

The disgraced former Fox TV personality said on his podcast this week that he'll be bantering back and forth with Glenn Beck every Friday. Beck's radio show is syndicated by Premiere. Beck and O'Reilly are good friends from their days working at Fox together. On his podcast, O'Reilly said, “We don't agree on everything, but it's very lively. Two-thousand-watter WWXX-FM in Buckland, Virginia, goes to Educational Media Foundation for $250,000, according to Greg Guy of Patrick Communications. The station is now carrying sports, and EMF President Mike Novak tells us the format EMF will carry on the station has not been decided yet. Northern Michigan radio icon "Big Dog" Dave Sherbert is retiring May 19 after being a presence on the air since there since the 1970s. He is a familiar voice for Blarney Stone Broadcasting’s Q-100 (WQON, 100.3-FM). “It’s time,” Sherbert said. [read more]

Thanks to their wile and cunning, WNNX Rock 100.5 morning guys Bailey and Southside, along with their producer Digi-Dude, got the hop on the other eager media outlets and christened the bridge last week.
