Last Thursday was pretty scary for Lonnie Strauss, the morning show host for Sunrise Broadcasting in Wausau WI. At 6 a.m., Strauss was attempting to clear snow off the station's satellite dish when he stepped and fell into four feet of the white stuff. He became disoriented, couldn't stand up, and was having a hard time moving. Then, his pants froze. [read more]

On Thursday The National Music Publishers Association and The Nashville Songwriters Association released a statement attacking Spotify and Amazon for their decision to file an appeal to the recent Copyright Royalty Board's decision to raise rates for streaming music by more than 44 percent. SAG-AFTRA has been using the media to try to help in its contract negotiations with Entercom in several cities. Yesterday The Philadelphia Business Journal reported that the Union is accusing Entercom of “low-balling” them during those negotiations. Michael Wright was sentenced to 21 months in prison for his role in the ponzi scheme that brought down former WFAN co-host Craig Carton. Wright diverted $2 million from investors to pay his own bills. [read more]
