Here's a radio station that could use a helping hand from friends in the industry. During a thunderstorm earlier this month, lightning struck the transmitter building of Harbert Hills Academy’s radio station, WDNX, in Savannah, TN, resulting in a fire that engulfed the building and destroyed the transmitter and other equipment. Malloy hosted overnights for most of his 36 years on the Pittsburgh rock station. He retired in 2013. Malloy's daughter said her father's final wish was to have a milkshake, an orange Fanta, and to hear AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” one last time. [read more]
 
 
More bad news for WLAC Nashville host Steve Gill. Gill has been in jail for the past nine days after being taken into custody for not paying $170,000 in child support to his ex-wife. Now, his current wife has filed for divorce because she's terrified of what he will do to her. [read more]
 
Bill Feingold hosts mornings on K-NEWS in Palm Springs (KNWZ-FM). Thinking he had bronchitis, Feingold went to the emergency room, where he was told he had stage four liver cancer. [read more]
 
Fox Sports 910 in Phoenix is moving “The Drive” with Jody Oehler from afternoons to mornings, beginning Tuesday. Oehler replaces The Dan Patrick Show, which iHeart is picking up from Fox Sports Radio. No word yet on who will host afternoon drive. [read more]
 
 
Drew Heyman has been named Music Director and weekday afternoon drive host for Top 40 Y100 (WHYI). [read more]
 
KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM, in Denver, have a new lineup, starting September 3. The lineup will feature 18 hours of daily live and local programming, including the addition of the new afternoon show Big Al & JoJo. [read more]
