Drive Time Metrics has been issued a patent which relates to the collection, measurement and analysis of in-vehicle media usage data. Company Director and Product Manager Rob Favre said, "The radio industry will now have measurement at scale allowing more accuracy and deeper insights." [read more]
 
 
It's a big question. Not only is attending the massive Consumer Electronics Show expensive, it takes valuable time away from the station, right at the start of a new year. CES kicks off Tuesday and runs through Friday in Las Vegas. [read more]
 
That's according to new data released by Kagan. M&A volume reached $4.31 billion in the fourth quarter of 2018, most of it coming on the TV side. Radio deals accounted for $198.7 million, TV $4.11 billion in Q4. [read more]

The Washington Times reports that a restaurant syndicated host Michael Savage frequents received a threatening e-mail demanding they deny the host service. Authorities are investigating. Savage decided not to go to that location and is taking the threat seriously. [read more]
 
The National Association of Broadcasters is accepting entries for the NAB Crystal Radio Awards, honoring outstanding community service. Submissions must be received by January 31. [read more]

The New England Patriots have announced a multi-year broadcast extension with Beasley’s WBZ-FM/98.5 The Sports Hub. Since its inception in 2009, the station has been the official radio flagship station of the Patriots. [read more]
 
Alpha Media, Austin-Albert Lea, MN, have raised over $24,000 for the Salvation Army with their Feed a Family event. They were they able to feed 975 families, and with the community’s generosity, a voucher system was put in place that will continue to stock the food shelves well into the new year. [read more]
