Broadcast Radio controls more than three-fifths of Canadian listening according to a new "Share of Ear" study released by Edison Research. Whether over-the-air or via streaming, AM/FM stations account for 61% of all Canadian listening, according to the study. [read more]
 
Yamanair Creative was launched in 2000 and provides stations in over 330 markets with creative services via the brands Cash-by-Creative and SPECByte. Lon Helton at Country Aircheck was the first to report that incoming Country Radio Hall of Famer Joe Wade Formicola passed away Tuesday after a brief illness. Formicola hosted mornings on WWWW/Detroit from 1987-1995. He was named CMA Personality of the Year in 1988. Joe shared this picture with Radio Ink back in 2016 which was taken when he worked at WKIX in Raleigh. Arrangements are pending. [read more]
 
A short press release from Beasley Media in Boston announced the retirement of long-time WKLB PD Mike Brophey. Brophey has been in radio 43 years, at WKLB for 20, and involved with Country programming for 30. Brophey has been one of Radio Ink's top Country PDs for many years, most of the time near the top of the list, and one year was ranked number one. [read more]
 
Corey most recently served as VP of Radio Programming at Bell Media in Toronto, where he managed programming for 105 radio stations and managed the day-to-day programming at Canada's number one station, CHUM FM.
