It's also a story that clearly highlights the power of radio. The Utah firm of Driggs, Bills & Day has filed a federal lawsuit against their own regulators — the Utah State Bar. The trial between Taylor Swift and fired Denver morning man David Mueller officially began Tuesday. Mueller took the stand and was peppered with questions about destroyed evidence as Swift's team tried to damage his credibility right off the bat. They also attempted to portray Mueller as an angry man who wasn't getting enough attention from the superstar singer. [read more]
 
You may recall back in July we wrote about how the RMLC had filed an injunction against GMR because the RMLC accused GMR of refusing to offer stations in Pennsylvania an extension on licenses to air GMR works. On Tuesday the RMLC confirmed that the 6-month extensions now being offered by GMR are being offered to all stations in every state. The NFL's Kansas City Chiefs have announced that this upcoming NFL season will be Len Dawson’s final season in the radio booth for the Chiefs Radio Network. This is Dawson's 33rd season calling Chiefs games. He began broadcasting in 1966, while he was still playing, and joined the Chiefs Radio Network as a commentator in 1984. [read more]

San Francisco Bay Area natives Kevin Frandsen and Drew Hoffar will host KNBR 680 AM’s new evening show, KNBR Tonight. The show debuts Monday, August 14, and will air weekdays from 7:00-10:00 p.m. PST and immediately following weekday San Francisco Giants postgame programming. [read more]
 
WNFN-FM/Nashville has recruited Kage Sanderson, former talent at crosstown WRVW-FM/Nashville, to take over middays (9 a.m.-2 p.m.), and JR Ramsey, who will host nights (7-12 p.m.) on WNFN. Both start in their new roles August 21. [read more]
