Borrell and Associates has just released its annual Local Advertiser Survey in which over 3,500 small businesses were surveyed about their advertising plans. The results showed that advertisers still use newspaper, digital is their number one choice, and events are huge. [read more]

Another massive document has been filed with the SEC on the road to getting the merger deal closed between Entercom and CBS. This one outlines a special shareholder meeting to approve the deal, however there is no date set for the meeting. There is some interesting information in the document (around page 110) that details the back-and-forth negotiations between Entercom and CBS that date all the way back June of 2016. [read more]

Former NFL cornerback Eric Davis is expanding his role on ESPNLA 710AM to include a position with Marcellus Wiley and Kelvin Washington starting Thursday, Oct. 12. The newly renamed Afternoons with Marcellus, Kelvin and Eric will air weekdays from 3-7 p.m. PT. [read more]
 
Rocker Nikki Sixx announced on Thursday that he plans to end his three syndicated programs with Premiere at the end of this year. Sixx' flagship program Sixx Sense launched in 2010 and had 130 affiliates. His final broadcast will be December 31. [read more]
