Van Riggs is the Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia in Alabama. iHeart's facility is in Opelika, AL, which is right on the city limit line with Auburn. It's also about 15 miles north from where the killer tornado touched down this past Sunday. [read more]
 
 
Erroll Reese is the co-host of the Sports Shop morning show on Capitol Broadcasting's sports radio station in Raleigh. Channel 11 in Raleigh is reporting that Reese lost 8 family members in the deadly tornado Sunday, the youngest family member was 14. [read more]
 
Is the revenue tide turning for radio? After another Q4 earnings call, we have yet another happy radio CEO. With a nice kiss from political revenue in the fourth quarter of 2018, Urban One turned in a healthy 4.1% increase to end the year. That was highlighted by a 16.5% boost from the radio division. Choice Radio Corporation is selling WKKQ-FM, WYWY-AM and translator W227CD licensed to Barbourville, Kentucky, to Forcht Broadcasting for $475,000. Forcht currently owns 25 full power AM/FM stations and 9 FM Translators. Ed Henson was the exclusive broker on the deal. [read more]
 
No word yet on what programming will be available; CEO Rob Koblasz says that will begin rolling out shortly. The name of the new company is Key Networks, and will be led by Koblasz and Sun & Fun Media CRO, and former Westwood One executive, Dennis Green. [read more]

All 58 Univision radio stations will now fall under the Uforia Audio Network. The Univision stations, while integrating Uforia Audio Network content and events into their lineups, will retain their local branding, including all on-air and offline promotions and identity. [read more]
