Cumulus Terminates Exchange Offer  The financial situation doesn't seem to be getting any better for radio's second biggest company. A press release states Cumulus has terminated its exchange offer due to the recent court ruling against the company and Cumulus "will continue its evaluation of alternatives to address its capital structure including through ongoing discussions with its stakeholders." Jose Valle Joins The Circus  It's true. The former Univision executive is leaving radio to join Cirque du Soleil. As of April 4th Valle will be the VP of sales for the company, based out of Las Vegas. Valle told Radio Ink he didn't want to leave radio but this opportunity with Cirque is just to epic to pass up. He also said he's going to stay connected with the radio industry, something he really loves. [read more] |

Entercom Goes R&B in New Orleans  The company launched Hot 103.7 FM, a new R&B station, on Friday. The station debuts with the kickoff of “Big Abe in the Morning”, hosted by Abraham “Big Abe” Johnson. Dynamic Duo Hits The Fan  Zach Bye, formerly the co-host of Big Board Sports on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio, is making the move to Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM)/Denver, to team up with Brandon Stokely. With 5 days left to vote for Radio's Top 20 Leaders, Beasley Media Philadelphia Market Manager Joe Bell made a serious run toward the top of our list this weekend. 
The National Association of Media Brokers made the announcement Sunday. Hawkins was a longtime member of NAMB. He passed away at a rehabilitation facility near his home in Wetumpka, Alabama, on Thursday, March 9 after undergoing surgery a week earlier.
Afternoon host Cortney Hicks will shift to daytime announcer in the 10 a.m.-3 p.m. slot. She will also continue her duties as V 101.9 Music Director. Hicks’ move finds Tone X taking over afternoons, 3-7 p.m. And that's just the start of it.
The Amarillo station’s annual Jude Country Cares Radiothon was a corker, raising $50,639 and topping last year’s total by $8,000.
